This is the first recording of the complete works of Madame de Villeblanche and Marie Bigot, both composers active in the Paris music scene at the close of the eighteenth and beginning of the nineteenth century. These challenging pieces richly enhance and expand our conception of the role of women composers of this time period. Chan is a gifted interpreter of Eastern and Western keyboard repertoire, and has specialized in the music of women composers.
